At the end of last month, we completed our exhibition at the China Plastics Exhibition in Shanghai. This Haichen CHINAPLAS 2026 Shows year marks Haichen’s tenth-plus year at CHINAPLAS. As a professional injection molding machine factory based in Ningbo, we always catch new market signals at each show. This time, the signals were pretty clear.

First, the official numbers: April 21–24, 2026, total visitors hit 350,189, with 86,440 from overseas (24.68%). Not bad at all. Our booth was 1.1D17, 72 square meters, open layout. We saw way more people than the last two shows.

Why the good traffic? Our HCK230 PET hybrid injection molding machine was the main draw. It runs on our own dual-system hybrid tech (electric + hydraulic).
We also equipped this machine with a three-in-one auxiliary device that combines drying, dehumidification, and material feeding.
This ensures the complete cleanliness of the PET raw materials, resulting in boxes with high transparency and a pure, crystal-like texture.
Throughout the show, it steadily cranked out crystal-clear PET storage box sets. Each box is food-grade PET, 350g net weight, size 300mm×200mm×50mm.
The clarity and edge details were spot on, and a lot of pros stopped to ask questions.

This dual system is our own baby. The electric pre-speed and metering units react fast and work precisely. The hydraulic clamping and injection units stay stable under heavy loads and high flow. Energy efficiency is well managed. The machine uses a high-response servo motor and gear pump, with pressure accuracy of ±0.5 bar. For thin-wall, clear PET parts in large batches, this setup hits a pretty good balance between speed and quality.
Who Came: Mostly Southeast Asia and India, but New Markets Are Popping Up

Traditional Markets: Keen but Slow to Convert
Talking with folks at our booth, most visitors were from Southeast Asia and India – that matches the official overseas share of nearly 25%. A lot of them are newcomers wanting to break into the industry. They really liked our PET hybrid tech, but their technical know-how and backup are still pretty basic. So it’ll take a while before “nice machine” turns into “we’ll take it.” You need patience and steady support.

Fresh Growth: North Africa and the Americas Sent Unexpected Crowds
Compared to the overall show, our fresh product design also pulled in visitors from other places – like Algeria in North Africa, and Guatemala, Peru, and Mexico in the Americas. These folks showed real interest in making high-clarity PET products. It’s a small sign that we might grow beyond our usual turf.

The Big Picture: End Users Are Playing It Safe, Distributors Feel the Squeeze
- End Users Shift: From Buying New to Keeping Old Running
- Distributors Under Pressure: Long Payment Terms vs. Our Price Edge

End Users Shift: From Buying New to Keeping Old Running
With the economy all over the place, end customers are clearly playing it safe. More companies are fixing up old gear or buying used machines to keep production going. It’s not that they don’t need new stuff – they just don’t want to throw money around. They’ve switched from “buy new assets” to “just keep making parts.” That’s both a headache and a chance for us. Our hybrid tech is already energy-efficient. So we can offer upgrade kits or trade-in deals, letting customers get new tech benefits without replacing the whole line.
-
Distributors Under Pressure: Long Payment Terms vs. Our Price Edge
Our distributors aren’t having an easy time either. Big global brands are squeezing their cash flow with long payment terms. But we still have a combined edge in price and performance – that’s rooted in our own production. For the same tech level, we cost less. That gives our distributors some confidence to keep pushing in the market.
Product Trends Are Moving, and New Customers Have a Classic Catch-22
- Hotter Demands: Lightweight, Micro-Foaming, and IML Packaging

Hotter Demands: Lightweight, Micro-Foaming, and IML Packaging
From this year’s chats, customer needs are shifting toward new energy, lightweight materials for electronics, and micro-foaming. Everyday consumer products are still there, but the bar for IML (in-mold labeling) integrated packaging keeps rising. That means machines have to handle thin walls, high clarity, recyclable materials, and in-mold decorating at the same time. It’s a bigger challenge for our tech.

Newbies’ Classic Paradox: Want the Best but Have No Budget Clue
A typical pattern: many first-time buyers want a top-of-the-line, all-in-one solution, but they have zero idea what things cost. This came up again and again. So we changed our talk. Instead of pushing the full high-end line right away, we used the crystal-clear PET box as a real example and broke it down: first show the finished product, then walk through entry-level machines, then modular setups with add-ons, and finally the fully auto high-end line. For cost, we focused on “cost per single part” rather than just the machine price. Customers liked this much better.

Wrapping Up
What we took away from Haichen CHINAPLAS 2026 Shows: the injection molding industry is moving from a broad growth phase into a time of structural change. Over 350,000 visitors and nearly 25% overseas attendance show that people still care – they’re just more careful and more practical with their money.
New energy, electronics, high-end packaging, and micro-foaming are the clear growth paths. Upgrading and retrofitting old machines also have big potential. That’s where we’re pointing our R&D for the future.
HAICHEN will keep working on our own dual-system hybrid tech, along with flexible machine options and retrofit solutions, to help customers at different stages find the upgrade path that truly fits their situation.
See you at the next Haichen CHINAPLAS Shows.
